Larry is most known for his invention of Google, now the most widely used and known search engine in the world. This has made him a multi-billionaire with a net worth in the 100's of billions, he is said to be the 7th richest person in the world. He had also created the foundation of search development creating PageRank. Before Google there were only 100 websites, now there are over 2 billion.
He first went to the University of Michigan and got is Bachelor of Science in Engineering while majoring in Computer Science. Though the University of Michigan was too easy for him, so he decided to go to Stanford where he got his Master of Science in computer science. He had enrolled in the PhD program at Stanford but eventually backed out to pursue is idea of Google.
In 1958 at MIT, John McCarthy created Lisp, a computer programming language that is still used to this day. I was a first of its kind with it being a highly advanced language that is still better that programming languages used today. John is also often credited with the creation of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He created the name and he organized the Dartmouth conference which laid down the foundations for Artificial Intelligence.
He got a Bachelors degree in Mathematics at California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech). Soon after he received his Doctorate from Princeton. He taught at 4 different institutions, Dartmouth, MIT, Princeton and Stanford.
Margaret was the director for the Apollo lunar exploration space program’s software wing. She was the first hired to work on it, and paved the way for the Apollo 11 landing, the famous flight that landed humans on the moon. Her software was the only reason that the mission did not have a last second abort that would have ended the flight.
Margaret Hamilton started her college years at Michigan University, but switched to Earlham College and graduated in 1958. She worked at MIT under the eyes of professor Edward Norton Lorenz, and worked with him to help him study meteorology and chaos theory.
